What’s the best way to track my cycling?
This challenge is all about keeping busy and active, so we trust you to be sticking to the distance you challenged yourself to. JustGiving has a great tool to connect your fundraising page to your Strava account so you can share your rides publicly. Only rides you record after you’ve connected your accounts will be shared automatically on your page. If you choose to use this tool, you may like to use Strava’s Privacy Zones function to hide your start/finish location. If you’re struggling, watch this video to help guide you through the process.
How can I cycle?
There’s lots of ways to hit your target, whether it’s on an exercise bike or road bike, keeping up your normal exercise routine or trying something new. And you can make up your miles over a day, a week, a weekend or a month. Just keep pedalling.
Who can take part?
Anyone and everyone, all abilities and all levels of cycling are welcome. Cycle or wheel the way you want over the course of the month.
Can we take part as a team?
Yes - one team one dream! All you need to do is select the team option when you sign up and it will guide you through the process of creating a team or joining an existing one. Please ensure you’re following government guidelines around exercising together, being in one team doesn't necessarily mean cycling together, it can just mean you’re all working towards one joint goal.
How can I fundraise?
Once you’ve decided to Cycle the Month, there’s loads of great ways to fundraise. Sign up and we’ll help you set up a JustGiving page and send you tips to make your challenge a success.
How much does it cost?
It’s free to sign up and take part. As for fundraising, we're suggesting you raise a minimum of £200 - but we'd love you to aim higher.
I want to wear a Prostate Cancer UK top whilst I cycle, where can I get one?
Once you've started fundraising we'll send you a Prostate Cancer UK t-shirt. We have an amazing gift of a branded jersey if you hit the £300 fundraising mark, or if you totally smash it and hit £500 you’ll be eligible for one of our blue jerseys! You can also kit yourself out at our online shop, from water bottles to baseball caps, you can spread awareness with our branded merch.
How can I see what other people are doing?
Check out the story grid on our homepage where you can see what your fellow cyclists are up to and how they are racking up the miles. You’ll also be able to keep your eye on hitting those miles on the leaderboard. Join our Cycle the Month Facebook group to keep up to date with fellow cyclists, exchange top tips and share your motivation. Don’t forget to post your #CycletheMonth snaps too.
